The only one in the open sea of the Americas is the Delta of Parnaíba River. It is divided in five arms, the other deltas in the open sea only occur in the estuary of the Nile River in Africa or Mekong in Asia. But the scenery of the Delta of Parnaíba does not exist anywhere else in the world.

The Delta is in a Federal Protection Environment area . Besides the dunes, beaches, rivers and Igarapés, the Delta of the Parnaíba River is formed by extensive forests and mangroves. The mangroves are one of the richest and vital eco-systems for the environmental balance of the coastal zone, where the sea life feeds and reproduces.

The mangroves are considered a species of “maternity of the sea”, and it is in this environment full of curious exotic plants and curious animal where shrimps, crabs, shells and many species of birds and fish find food in abundance, and safe shelter to multiply. In the region of the Delta there are rock formations, such as granite of thePedra do Salbeach. It exists in a place where nature was blessed by God, this is theDelta of the Parnaíba River, the great meeting of the “Old Monge” (The Old Monk) with the Atlantic Ocean, on the limits between Piauí and Maranhão , it reserves a series of landscapes and surprises that hardly are forgotten after duly explored by the eyes and senses. Besides seeing the beauties of the fauna and flora , one also gets to know a little of the life of the river-dwelling people who are found living on diverse islets where the boat passes until arriving at the meeting with the sea, that is announced by a wonderful breeze.

Options to the Delta Tour

Delta 01 – Tour in Motor Boat Until the Caj Island .

• Schedule: to combine with the customer;
• Duration: Mandatory at least 01 day/1 night night ( norms of entrance in the island);
• Description: Exit of the Port of the Tatus where we catch the fast motor boat (with capacity for 04, 06, 08 people), in direction to the Island of the Caj , passing for diverse islands consecutively until arriving there. The main islands are:Island of the Bananal, Guirind , Zimburana, Manguinho, Engra a, Mount of the Way and then in front of this sights the Caj Island. Arriving at the island, it will be an car to the disposal of the customers for the transport until the Put and accomplishment of check-in; of followed the lunch and made the presentation of the strolls and available activities in the island will be served.

Delta 02 – Tour in motor boat until the bay of brave beans.

• Duration: about 4 hours;
• Description: Exit of the Port of Tatus, where we catch the fast motor boat ( with capacity for 04, 06, 08 persons ), and will follow in direction to the Poldros Island( 2 Estuary of the Delta ), passing to the plaza of the Island of the Canaries. Before arriving at the Poldros Island, the motor boat turns the left catching the Narrow river the Poldros, place where a stop becomes, for the comment of the capture of the crab. After that, it is transferred the plaza of the Barrier Island ( of the left side ) more in the front is the Bay of the Brave Beans, with the dune formation. Here then stop during about 50 minutes, to enjoy of the landscape, to take a walk on the dunes and to give a diving in the sea. Ofter return, it is transferred the plaza of the Canaries Island, with the option of lunch in the Paradise of Canaries, for about 1h and stocking, returning then until to the Tatus Port.

Delta 03 – Tour in motor boat until Can rias bay and Poldros Island.

• Duration: about 3h and 30min;
• Description: Of the Port of the Tatus in a Fast Motor Boat, ( capacity for 04, 06, 08 people), with ticket for the Narrowriver of the Periquitos area of manguezais (such, exit shelter different animals as: mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, crustaceans and clams; These contribute for the maintenance of the biological balance of this coast. Still in the Narrow river, a stop for the comment of the capture of the crab ( Island of the Trindade) during about 20 minutes becomes.
