Route of Dolphins

Watching dolphins in the wild

In the Sado Estuary lies one of the few sedentary populations of bottlenose dolphin – corvineiro Europe and one of the most important worldwide. With a population estimated at about 30 individuals, is a privilege to see them evolve in the calm waters of the estuary, or indulge in leaps and pirouettes that we attract and inform. The observation of this little world where they play, hunt and spend most of their time, lasts approximately two and a half hours, with the possibility of short stop for swimming, and develops one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, Setúbal Bay, also known as Dolphin Bay, which belongs to the restricted club of the “Most Beautiful Bays in the World.” This Mini – Cruise skirts the bank of the Sado River near the city through Albarquel, Commandery, Fort Outão, Figueirinha, where the zone begins habitually frequented by dolphins which extends across the southern channel and is called “Route of the dolphins” a walk of about three hours where it is essential to bring your camera!

Important Note

The observations of dolphins in the wild are mostly successful and have a very high success rate. However, nothing and no one can guarantee the absolute certainty of seeing them, although this community is resident here, they depend on their own. To be sure only to see dolphins in captivity, and without the intuition that gives them freedom.
