Wine tour in Italy
This itinerary wants to be a tribute to the Art, the History and the culinary traditions in Sicily… It has been created to offer the opportunity to live a real journey to the discovery of tastes and perfumes, sounds and colors that only a country like Sicily can offer, whith its sour and luxuriant nature, its different architectural styles, its humble but proud people, whith its cooking, handed down by generations. This is an original way to visit Sicily, crossing the roads of the taste, of the thousand tastes through menù that mixed traditions and folklore to give an authentic experience to the traveller.

- 1 night in Marsala;
- 1 night in Agrigento;
- 3 nights in the area of Taormina/Catania;
- 7 breakfasts and 6 dinners (menu whith 3 courses or All you can eat menu, excluded drinks;

Day 1 (Arrival)
Arrival of the participants to the airport in Palermo. Meeting with the tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner whith typical local products in a restaurant in town, during the dinner concert performance of the folk singer “Peppino”. Overnight stay.
Day 2 (Culinary Experience)
Morning is devoted to the visit of the famous market “Il Capo” in Palermo. Walk among the stands to buy some ingredients that will be useful for the preparation of the lunch. At the Capo is possible to breath Palermo’s pith, the contrasts, the eccentricity, the Arab culture and the spicy perfumes, the Baroque.
There are bakeries that still keep the ancient counters of marble. Stands rich in fruits and vegetables, spice of every type, small bundles of oregano, ceramics, bottles, jars.
Colourful stalls of meat or fish, but also food ready to eat like “involtini”, sea salad, and above all “sarde a beccafico”. Transfer to Valle dello Jato and visit to a wine cellar where the grape is cultivated to produce Chardonnay, Inzolia, Cataratto, Black Of bleak, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
Transfer to Borgetto to have lunch in a villa of the years ’40, absorbed in an ancient garden of citrus fruit, palms and pines. In there the Chef has prepared the bases of your lunch waiting for Your collaboration. Lunch and relax. In the afternoon return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 (Erice and the Salt Way)
Departure to Erice beautiful medieval town on the top of the Mountain St. Giuliano. On the ruins of the Temple it still rises the Castle of Venus. The historical centre has a medieval urban plant with small squares and roads where to find beautiful bloomed backyards. Transfer to Paceco and visit of an ancient “Baglio Trapanese”. Wine, extra vergin oliv oil and olives tasting. Lunch with traditional products. In the afternoon transfer to the “Saline” in Trapani. Saline are set along the coast road direction to Marsala, coasting windmills and small archipelagos. The visit is a beautiful sight every moment of the year. Transfer to Marsala. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 (Marsala, Caltabellotta, Agrigento)
In the morning visit of Marsala, the most important centre of wine production in Sicily. The establishments for the wine production are set in particular buildings called “Bagli”, buildings that are posible to admire both in the city and in the districts. The city is also interesting from the monumental point of view with the Cathedral, the Archaeological Museum of “Baglio Anselmi”. Transfer to Caltabellotta and lunch in a typical restaurant: a small museum devoted to the ancient sicilian traditions. Inside the museum you will find old machines , instruments, clothes, books of common prayers. During lunch you will be captured by the ancient atmosphere.
Transfer to Agrigento. Visit of the Valley of the Temple. Check-in in the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 (Licata, Piazza Armerina, Taormina)
Departure to Licata and visit of a winery. The winery makes wine from grapes coming from selected vineyard all around Sicily: Nero d’Avola, Inzolia, Nerello Mascalese and Frappato. The rural home has been built at the end of the ‘700 and it is one of the more fascinating winery of the island. Transfer to Piazza Armerina. Lunch in a rural restaurant . Piazza Armerina rises on a high hill. There you will find the splendid Roman Villa del Casale with its floors in mosaic famous all over the world. Transfer to the area of Taormina. Check-in in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 (Taormina)
During the morning visit of Taormina. Through a walk in town you will visit the most important monuments and you will live the typical atmosphere of this town. Once the visit is ended, transfer to the Etna’ slopes for the visit of a wine cellar . Wine tasting and lunch. In the afternoon free time. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 7 (Syracuse)
Day devoted to the visit of Syracuse, fascinating city, defined by Cicerone “the most beautiful city in Great Greece”. The visit will begin with from the centre of the city, constituted by an island called Ortigia. It is the most ancient part of Syracuse, a fascinating place to be discovered walking through the alleys where there are museums and historical buildings, among these are the famous Fonte of Arethusa.
Lunch in a firm which is famous for the Moscato of Syracuse. In the afternoon visit of the archaeological zone: here you will find the Greek theater entirely dug in the rock, and where classical representations are still performed.
Day 8 (Departure)
Breakfast in hotel and free time up to the transfer to the airport in Catania.
