Day 1 – San José, Costa Rica

Welcome to Costa Rica, inside the airport you will be assisted by one of our representatives; at the exit door of the airport, a guide of Destination Costa Rica with a passenger sign name will meet and guide you to our motorcoach that will provide the private transfer to the hotel in San José.

Day 2 – Poás Volcano + Doka Estate + Sharchi Tour

As we ascend the mountain, we will notice a change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful array of colors and visuals.

Then we continue to Poas Volcano National Park, it is an active 2,708-metre (8,885 ft) stratovolcano. The crater of the volcano is over a mile across and 1050 feet deep.  Next, after visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch at Doka Estate we will stop to learn more about our golden bean, which is a term used to describe the unique and savory coffee of Costa Rica.  Our third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America. Grecia is home to one of the only Metal Churches in Central America. The church is a national monument that fills its inhabitants with pride.  Our last stop along the way is the town of Sarchi, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans. Here we will take in the artistic work of the local artisans, as they create the famous typical oxcarts. Then, we will be able to shop for that special souvenir to take back home.

Day 3 – San Jose – Tortuguero

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to Tortuguero National Park by way of Braulio Carrillo National Park, the latter well known for its forests, tall mountains and immense number of rivers. The trip will continue by boat for a two-hour cruise up the rivers and canals to our destination hotel. After lunch a visit to the town of Tortuguero is included. Dinner included.

OVERNIGHT AT PACHIRA LODGE, TORTUGUERO or similar for 2 nights – accommodation on STD Room.

Day 4 – Tortuguero Park

Breakfast at your hotel.  Morning boat ride along the canals of Tortuguero, a national park renowned for its diversity in habitats that shelter seven species of turtle, a large variety of crustaceans and many species of freshwater fish.  After lunch you are free to stroll through the grounds and explore the hotel surroundings. Dinner included. 


Day 5 – Tortuguero – Arenal

Breakfast at your hotel. We will once again board the boat for transfer to the embarcadero and then continue by land to Guapiles, where you may enjoy a delicious lunch.  Continuation of our trip to the Arenal area, one of the country’s most famous attractions.

Day 6 – Arenal
Eden Chocolate Farm & Tour

In our tour you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of cocoa and chocolate, as well as the process of elaboration from the seed to the bar. You will also enjoy trying the traditional drink of our ancestors and make your own chocolates. Come and enjoy this sweet experience!

Day 7 – Arenal – Puntarenas

Breakfast at your hotel. At the morning you will enjoy the Arenal Hanging Bridges is a must-do in the area of La Fortuna for anyone who loves nature and the rainforest. It is a 15 suspension bridges trail that will give you a glance of the forest from all possible points.

After this activity you will be transferred to Puntarenas the pearl of the Pacific as it is called in Costa Rica, located in the Central Pacific Coast. The region is a treasure for biodiversity, attracting nature buffs, eco-travelers and adventure-seekers alike.

Along the way you can observe beautiful landscapes forests and breathtaking views until we reach the hotel of your choice in the province of Puntarenas located in the central Pacific.

Day 8 – Puntarenas
Tortuga Island Tour

White sand trimmed by clear blue ocean is Tortuga Island’s signature sight. Considered one of the most

beautiful islands South of the Nicoya Peninsula, it can be reached in less than thirty minutes from Isla Chiquita.

Enjoy the views, snorkeling, and a-la-carte paid activities like hiking, kayaking, and banana boat rides.

During your stay, you will enjoy access to an exclusive area with special amenities and swimming.

Day 10 – San José

Breakfast at your hotel.  At the prearranged time, we will transfer you to the International Airport in enough time to board your return flight home.

  • Please note that it’s a quotation and there are not blocked rooms.
  • Closed out dates from Nov 30th to Jan 5th and Easter week according to the dates of each year.
  • Must be quoted each enquire from Dec 1st to Jan 5th.
  • All prices are per person, subject to change without previous notice.
  • Given price does not include air portion.
  • All rooms at different properties have two double beds; participants on triple room may have to share the bed with roommate.
  • Hotels do not guarantee King or Queen Beds and this is subject to availability.
  • If number of passengers change, prices may change as well.
  • Arrival Transfer are based on passengers arriving on the same flight or with few minutes of difference between one from the other, if we have more than 15 minutes different between flights, we need to hire additional transfers with an additional charge.
  • Currently sales taxes in Costa Rica are 13% and they are included on your quote. However, in 2020 the will apply to many different services that were not by law forced to pay. The percentage will apply in July 01st. As soon as the new percentage of taxes will be defined by the government all tour operators should have to include them on all the quoted programs and the program cost will change without previous notice.


  • 60 days prior to the passenger’s arrival the final payment will be requested. All deposits are not refundable at this time.
  • Prices Subject to change due to government taxes. 


  • These tour programs are operated by Destination Costa Rica, in common with “Departures and Arrivals” Destination Costa Rica acts as an agent for Tour Members in arranging room accommodations, transportation, sightseeing. DCR reserves the right in its sole discretion to make changes in the itinerary and is not responsible for expenses, loss of time, money or other happening resulting from a change of tour scheduling made for Tour Members. DCR reserves the right to accept, decline or retain any person as a member of the tour, and is not responsible for any losses or damages of personal property, or for injuries, expenses or damages incurred by any Tour Member. 


  • If any passenger must return home early. DCR will try to avoid last minute cancellations fees, however the decision is subject to the different policies of the different providers involve on this itinerary.
  • No refund on unused portions of the program.


  • Destination Costa Rica reserves the right to alter its Refund and Cancellation Policy when a substantial amount of cancellation or postponement of travel is attributable to: natural or man-made disaster, fire, government action, civil disorder, war, hostilities between nations, or unavailability of transportation through no fault of DCR. 


  • The land price of your tour does not include airfare to the tour departure point; any inter-country air; items of a personal nature; meals not included on the itinerary; sightseeing attractions listed as “optional excursions”. 


  • Each passenger must have a valid passport.
  • Expiry date of passports should be at least six months after the return date of tour.
